John K. Boyce, Jr., CPCU
|
John was born and raised in Amarillo,
Texas and graduated from Amarillo High
School in 1942. John attended the United
States Military Academy at West Point
and graduated forty-third in the Class
of 1945. After being commissioned an
officer in the Corps of Engineers and
serving three years in the European
Theater, John attended and graduated
with a MBA degree from The Wharton
School of Finance at the University of
Pennsylvania in 1951. Upon graduation,
John returned to Amarillo to join his
father John Boyce, Sr. at Williams-Boyce
Agency, LLP. Soon after his return, John
completed the requirements to be awarded
the Chartered Property and Casualty
Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
John is married to Sidney and they are
the proud parents of John III, Beaumont,
Peter, and William. In addition, they
are proud grandparents of nine
grandchildren. Peter and William, are
partners with their father at
Williams-Boyce Agency, LLP.
Throughout his career, John has remained
active in many civic and professional
organizations including serving as a
committee chairman and board member of
the Independent Insurance Agents of
Texas; the Independent Insurance Agents
of the Panhandle, past President; St.
Andrew’s Episcopal Church, past Senior
Warden; The Rotary Club of Amarillo,
past President and recipient of 50 year
perfect attendance award in 2001; The
Salvation Army, Life Member; and the Boy
Scouts of America, where he was awarded
the Silver Beaver Award.
